My Oldest Friend

Updated: May 7

“My Oldest Friend” is probably not the title my dear friend, Eleanor Trafton, would want to proclaim, but I enjoy telling everyone that, at age 95, she could easily pass for 85. Always inspiring and uplifting, we very much enjoy her visits when she comes to Ellis Piano to buy music.

A retired piano teacher and composer, she still lives by herself and, even though no longer teaches, continues to compose everyday. She also swims in her pool during the summer and dances!  In addition, Eleanor told me that she and her sports buddies have downgraded from playing tennis to playing ping pong because the latter is safer for them at their age. I couldn't help but chuckle at this very serious announcement by my sweet Eleanor. I hope I am still as active as she is if I make it to 95!
